FAQ's
1What should I do to prepare for my filler or Botox treatment?
To prepare for your treatment, avoid alcohol, aspirin, caffeine and non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) like ibuprofen for at least 24-48 hours before your appointment, as these can increase the risk of bruising. It's also helpful to arrive with a clean, makeup-free face.
2What can I expect during the treatment?
During the treatment, you may feel a slight pinch or stinging sensation as the product is injected. Procedures can take 15-45 minutes, depending on the areas being treated. Discomfort is usually minimal, and most patients find the process very tolerable.
3Is bruising normal after fillers or Botox, and how long does it last?
Yes, bruising is a common side effect after fillers and Botox. The extent varies from person to person but if you do bruise this typically lasts between 3 to 7 days. To minimise bruising, avoid intense physical activity, alcohol, caffeine and blood-thinning medications for at least 24 hours post-treatment.
4What aftercare steps should I follow post-treatment?
After your treatment, avoid touching or massaging the treated areas for at least 6 hours. No make up on the injection site area for 24 hours. Refrain from strenuous exercise, hot showers, and alcohol for the first 24 hours. Please also refrain from smoking, vaping or drinking from a straw if you had lip filler for 24 hours. Keep your head elevated while sleeping and avoid exposure to excessive heat or direct sunlight for a few days.
5When will I see the results, and how long will they last?
Botox results typically start to appear within 3-5 days, with full results visible in about 10-14 days. Fillers usually show immediate results, but full effects are seen after any swelling subsides. Botox typically lasts 3-4 months. Fillers depend on how slowly or quickly your body breaks down the product and the area being injected but this can last anywhere from 4-12 months, depending on each individual this can vary.
6What should I do if I experience any complications?
If you experience any unusual symptoms such as paleness or blisters to skin within the first 3 days following your treatment, contact your practitioner immediately.
